The Indian STEPs and Business Incubators Association [ISBA], a registered professional body sponsored by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (Ministry of Science and Technology), Government of India was set up in 2004 as a registered professional body to promote business incubation activities in the country through exchange of information, sharing of experience, and other networking assistance among Indian Business Incubators, Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Parks (STEPs) and other related organizations engaged in the promotion of start-up enterprises. In order to a platform of new venture creation and to facilitate growth of existing enterprises ISBA organizes the Annual Conference.
It is the largest networking event of Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Parks, Business Incubators, incubatee companies, government support agencies, financial institutions, VCs, angel investors etc. that are driving incubation movement in India. ISBA Innovation & Entrepreneurship Awards- This conference will host the Fifth ISBA Innovation and Entrepreneurship awards to recognize the outstanding start-ups and entrepreneurs who gained from the Indian Incubation Network. ISBA has introduced Innovation and Entrepreneurship awards for the best performing incubatee companies of ISBA members.
This award acts a great motivator of innovation and entrepreneurship among the knowledge based entrepreneurs in the country. These awards are given in various categories of Information and Communication Technology, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Chemistry Green Technology (including Clean water, Environment & Renewable Energy) Engineering, Manufacturing, Technology that support inclusive growth (Rural Development, Agriculture, Healthcare, Communication Including Projects as Mitigator for Under-Privileged) Instrument and Controls.

RESEARCH @ WORK R@W 2013- EXHIBITION- The exhibition shall facilitate incubators, incubatees and innovators to showcase their products and services in exhibition stalls. R@W shall showcase how Research is converted into wealth by the process of business Incubation. Last Date for Registration- 20th January 2013 Conference Date- 7th to 9th February 2013 Globally, business incubators play a vital role by providing intensive support to creation and successful launch of business ventures.
There are around 105 business incubators, today, supported by various agencies from the Central as well as the State government, including some private organizations and more than 5000 such incubators are in existence worldwide and it is a fact that the contribution is quite significant in terms of job creation, knowledge creation and wealth creation.

KIITTBI, an initiative of KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, supported by NSTEDB, DST, GOI is one among those business incubators in India and became the first and only incubator in the State of Odisha catering to the need of th e region. established with a broader vision and mission of promoting Innovative idea & transforming Research developments of Students and Faculties into commercially-feasible technologies for the benefit of the society.

KIIT Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) is an initiative of KilT University supported by Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. With this it has become the first and only such TBI in the state of Odisha and one amongst the fifty-odd in the country. KIIT-TBI is also a member of ISBA, APIN and NEN.

Besides NSTEDB KIIT-TBI is also supported by + BIRAC, Dept of Biotechnology , Government of India + Technology Development Board (TDB), Government of India + TePP, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India + TIDE, Department of Information Technology (DIT), Government of India + T C FA, Technology Information, Foreing and Assessment Council (TIFAC), Government of India + MS ME, Government of India Although the principal thrust of KIlT TBI is Biotechnology and ICT, KIIT-TBI now also focusing on other emerging areas in Engineering & Technology and Rural Innovation.
